We geologists always seem to have a project that uses parts of two or even four quadrangles.Wouldn't be great to make your own quadrangle, well you can!The USGS has a free service that allows seamless data to be downloaded for any chosen area. This includes Landsat images, orthophotos, DEMs, etc.Of course the USGS data is tailored for ArcGis formats, but we MapInfo people can get the data with just a little more effort. This article will illustrate how to download DEM data and then create contours in feet using Discover. It is relatively easy process once you get it figured out!
