Occurrence

1. When starting MapInfo Professional, in the Quickstart dialog the last used workspace always says "ContextMenus.menu".

2. When I navigate to File>Recent Files, a large number of .menu files appear, such as ContextMenus.menu.

Solution

This issue has been resolved in the MapInfo Discover 2015.0.1 patch (see related article for download link), after you install the patch AND open the first workspace (.WOR) file in Mapinfo Pro.

 As a workaround simply use Restore Previous session to open your last workspace area.
 Alternatively simply click OK and navigate to File>Recent Files to select your last opened workspace.
